Hoffman fury at Hollywood 'euthanasia'

Speaking yesterday as he visited Britain for the premiere of his latest film, Stranger Than Fiction, at The Times London Film Festival Dustin Hoffman said, “If the film doesn’t make money over that first weekend of its release, they will bury it.”

The talented and obviosly outspoken actor speaks his mind about Hollywood in this interesting interview.

Daryl Duke dead at 77

Daryl Duke, an Emmy and Genie-award winning director and writer succumbed to illness this weekend in his Vancouver home. He was 77. Duke is best known as the director of the hugely successful mini-series "The Thorn Birds". In Canadian film he also directed "The Silent Partner" as well as many other TV series for the CBC and other networks. He was honoured this year with a lifetime achievement awards from BC Film. He was a founder of the Praxis Centre for Screenwriters.
