Snakes on a Plane

Even with all the hype, all you can really ask for from a movie with title like Snakes on a Plane is a entertaining, gory, cheesy movies about, well, Snakes on a Plane. And that's what we got. It doesn't disappoint however I couldn't help feel that they missed some opportunities to go a little further with some of the setups. There was so much potential for a gigantic boa introduced later in the movie however he wasn't part of the plot for very long. There was a scene where a snake goes up a woman's dress. Since they aimed for a R-Rating, why not go where we all thought they were going with that...there were a few other scenes that went into similar territory, so why not this one? I think the problem is that they originally aimed to produce a PG-13 film and only upped the anti later on and then filmed some extra scenes with nudity, sex and more gore. I think if they aimed for an R-rated movie from the beginning, the movie would have been a little better thought out. I’d give it a 7.5/10…for what it was, of course.

I will say this...when Samuel L. Jackson (the coolest actor in Hollywood) said his now-famous line, everyone in the theatre cheered and it really was an experience seeing this film in the theatre just for that.

If Snakes on a Plane left you hanging for more, check out Snakes on a Train, coming straight to DVD next week (I kid not!)
